Mystery Solved: Clerical Error to Blame for Bellevue Hotel
A Fairfield-Marriott spokesman released a statement this morning offering an explanation and apology to residents of Bellevue regarding the accidental construction of a hotel last summer.
The statement reads:
“To whom it may concern,
During a routine audit, it was discovered that we mistakenly built a hotel in Bellevue, Idaho that was intended for Bellevue, Iowa. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience or confusion this may have caused.

Bellevue mayor Chris Koch was dismayed by the news but also knew this day would come. “We didn’t know what the hell was going on when the construction crew showed up last summer but definitely weren’t going to turn them away.” Koch continued, “Our town hadn’t seen a windfall like this since that tractor trailer full of Little Debbie’s jack-knifed at Timmerman in ‘87.”
